Refund policy

At Memoire Jewellery, we want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase. Exchanges are subject to the following terms and conditions.

Within 30 Days of Purchase

Gold Jewellery

Gold jewellery may be exchanged for:

  • Diamond jewellery; or
  • A diamond jewellery gift voucher equivalent to the eligible invoice value.

Only one exchange is permitted.

Diamond Jewellery

Diamond jewellery may be exchanged for:

  • Other diamond jewellery; or
  • A diamond jewellery gift voucher equivalent to the eligible invoice value.

Only one exchange is permitted.

After 30 Days and Until the End of One Year from Purchase

Gold Jewellery

Gold jewellery may be exchanged for gold or diamond jewellery.

The gold value will be calculated according to the prevailing market price on the date of exchange, after deducting:

  • Manufacturing costs
  • Stone weight/value as applicable
  • Non-gold components
  • Other applicable components or charges

Diamond Jewellery

Diamond jewellery may be exchanged for other diamond jewellery following the applicable valuation and deduction of remodelling or exchange costs, where applicable.

Such deduction shall not exceed 25% of the original invoice amount under Memoire Jewellery's standard exchange policy.

The value of the newly selected diamond jewellery must be higher than the applicable exchange value of the jewellery being exchanged.

After One Year from the Purchase Date

Gold Jewellery

Gold jewellery may be exchanged for gold or diamond jewellery.

The gold value will be calculated according to the prevailing market price on the date of exchange after deducting:

  • Manufacturing costs
  • Stone weight/value
  • Non-gold components
  • Other applicable deductions

Diamond Jewellery

Diamond jewellery may be exchanged for other diamond jewellery after the original jewellery has been valued by Memoire Jewellery according to its material content, condition and applicable market valuation.

The newly selected jewellery must have a value greater than the approved exchange value of the jewellery being exchanged.

General Exchange Conditions

Original Invoice

Exchange or upgrade of jewellery is permitted upon presentation of:

  • The original Memoire Jewellery purchase invoice; or
  • Other acceptable proof of purchase approved by Memoire Jewellery.

Condition of Jewellery

For exchanges requested within 30 days, the jewellery must be in substantially the same condition as at the time of purchase, subject to inspection.

Damaged or Missing Components

Where jewellery presented for exchange has damage, missing stones, missing components, excessive wear or other issues, the item will be subject to inspection and valuation by Memoire Jewellery.

Applicable deductions may be made from its exchange value.

Refunds

Memoire Jewellery's standard policy is primarily an exchange policy rather than a cash-refund policy.

Where Memoire Jewellery expressly approves a discretionary return and refund, reasonable transaction-related costs already incurred, including applicable payment-processing or credit-card charges, may be deducted to the extent permitted by applicable law.

This provision does not affect any refund, replacement, repair or other remedy that a customer is legally entitled to under mandatory UAE consumer-protection legislation, including in relation to defective or non-conforming goods.

Customised Jewellery

Customised, personalised and made-to-order jewellery is not eligible for exchange under the standard exchange programme, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

Pearl Jewellery

Pearl jewellery submitted for exchange will be inspected and valued based on the condition and quality of the pearls and the jewellery at the time of exchange.

Watches

The Memoire Jewellery exchange policy does not apply to watches.

Watches are subject to the applicable manufacturer's warranty, service policy and brand-specific terms.

Country of Purchase

Exchange is permitted only in the same country in which the jewellery was originally purchased, unless expressly approved otherwise by Memoire Jewellery.

Gold Bars

Jewellery cannot be exchanged against Gold Bars.

Inspection and Approval

All exchanges are subject to:

  • Verification of the original purchase
  • Inspection of the jewellery
  • Authentication where required
  • Valuation by Memoire Jewellery
  • Compliance with the applicable conditions of this policy
